Steroplast

Having secured a contract to supply the British Red Cross with 100% of their medical supply requirements, they needed to commission a web portal for BRC volunteers to order supplies through.

Steroplast got in touch with us to establish the feasibility of the production of a bespoke portal with regards to both budget and the available timescale. The first phase of production would need to include functionality for volunteer users to log into a password-protected catalogue and browse the available products. They would then place orders with ‘regional buyer’ users who could actually place orders through the site on the behalf of all volunteers in their region.

Our role involved helping to specify the system to the requirements of the BRC both in terms of complying with brand guidelines but also to ensure that it was simple enough for untrained volunteers to navigate.
The site functionality includes a shopping cart, automatic address lookup via postcodes, order reporting and data exporting for invoice production via a bespoke in-house accounting package, an administrative interface for adding/managing the product catalogue including categorisation and delivery terms on a per-product basis and more.

Now entering into the third phase of development, feedback from the BRC has been extremely positive which should ensure the continuation of the relationship between Steroplast and their customer.
